The handsome devil that is the young Ron Jeremy gives an award winning performance in Cecil Howards’s Last X-Rated Movie. Sure, this post is all about Cecil’s birthday, but Ron Jeremy is the best thing that ever happened to that movie. He is a sly fox and damn does he know how to bang Sharon Mitchell. New Year’s Eve casts an urgency unlike any other day of the year as people all over America revel in the infinite possibilities of the coming year. Cecil Howard‘s Foxtrot follows the lives of several oversexed New Yorker’s on the last day of the year as they plan and prepare for what they hope will be a night of unforgettable passion. The countdown is on and the stage is set as the Luther’s prepare to host a New Year’s Eve gala where the lives of all the characters will intertwine. With an in telligent script by Ann Randall and superb camera work from Felix Daniel, Cecil Howard coaxes genuine, realistic performances and arousing sexuality from an all-star cast. Jack Teague plays the perverted millionare who will have sex with anyone… but his wife. R. Bolla is the conservative but curious neighbor to Marlene Willoughby’s Zelda, an erotic writer. Sandra Hillman plays the baby-sitter who decides that New Year’s Eve is the time to lose her virginity and Ron Jeremy plays the sailor who discovers his girlfriend is cheating on him… with another woman! Vanessa Del Rio and Tiffany Clark are both objects of desire for the aforementioned Teague. lInda Vale plays the mother to Marilyn Gee’s Alice, a young but notorious starlet who is willing to do anything to get a starring role. PHILADELPHIA – Following up on its unprecedented and successful month-long run of Command Cinema’s much decorated Scoundrels earlier this summer, Hotmovies.com is again working with adult filmmaking legend Cecil Howard to bring Star Angel, one of the final masterpieces of adult 35 mm film, back to viewers for a similar limited engagement.
As he did with 1983’s Scoundrels, Howard agreed to release 1986’s Star Angel, for which he won AVN’s coveted Best Director Award, to the popular website’s viewers for one-month only, with no DVD release or further distribution planned. It can be seen on HotMovies.com starting today.
“It’s a superior follow-up event,” said HotMovies director of business development James Cybert. “Many, many people have longed to review or see for the first time Howard’s amazing films from the golden age of porn. We are truly lucky to work with him in this capacity, and to bring these amazing movies – the likes of which have not been seen since – back for another run in the spotlight.”
Star Angel follows the life and sexual escapades of music manager Luke Frame (Jerry Butler in a deeply haunted performance) as he first loves, then kills, rising star of song Lola Rain (Chelsea Manchester, aka “Tigr“). Following her death, he spends the rest of his life attempting to passionately overcome his own psychic wounds, resulting in a lot of steamy sex, if not redemption.
Steeped in the psychological melodrama common to the work of Howard and screenwriter Anne Randall, the movie provides a vehicle for several indelible performances, including one of the best and last for adult screen legend Colleen Brennan. In between, HotMovies spokesman and walking porn billboard Ron Jeremy provides comic relief as Luke’s chauffer, Mario.
“I’m so proud of this movie,” said Howard. “I made it at a time when video was really starting to take over. That didn’t stop us from putting our all into it, from doing it the right way even as so many people were starting to do things on the cheap. It’s really the last of its kind and I think it turned out tremendous.”

We gathered around the dinner table one night on the patio at Maxine’s, a South Beach mainstay for late eats. We prepared to break bread with an eclectic group of industry stars including HotMovies spokesperson Ron Jeremy and the incomparable Sunny Lane.
As drinks were served, we took the opportunity to speak with Mr. Jeremy about the legendary Cecil Howard and the making of Scoundrels, Howard’s AVN Award-winning epic about to be released for the first time in 25 years on HotMovies.com and Ron Jeremy’s Video Theater.
HM: Ron, it’s great to see you, as always. Please talk a little about your experience working with Cecil Howard on Scoundrels.
RJ: I was always doing comedy. All the Chuck Vincent comedies, I was known for that. Sizzle, Fascination, you know…. And then Cecil Howard has me do this movie where he goes, “No jokes, no cracking jokes, no typical Ron Jeremy laughing…” and I went along with it. It was a very, very serious psychodrama…. People are gonna see this film and say, damn, they made movies as good as Pirates back in those days.
Cecil Howard was one of the really good filmmakers. He never compromised. He did Neon Nights, he did Babylon Pink. He didn’t sacrifice for the video market, which started to take over.
Howard is actually the Burt Reynolds character from Boogie Nights. He refused to jump on that shooting videos format. He wanted to make motion pictures on FILM, not video.
