So the guys over at Ask Men recently sat down with yours truly and talked about life, porn, and my career. Naturally I gave one hell of an interview, check it out:

Q: You’ve done a lot of mainstream work for 2008, what are your big projects?

I got a lot of porn that’s coming out too, [but] the big ones I’ve got coming up are National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus with Dave Carradine and Ali Larter from Heroes; that’s going to be a big film and I got a nice part in that, I even have front credits. And also a film called One-Eyed Monster with Charles Napier and the girl who was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer [Amber Benson]; there’s a very funny horror film where the aliens infiltrate a penis. You’ll never guess whose, so that’s going to be a very bizarre movie. And another one’s called Finding Bliss… with Denise Richards and Leelee Sobieski.

I’ve done so many films… there’s one called Loaded, another one called Stone & Ed, there’s one called Finishing the Game that was actually nominated for an Asian award and gave me and [James] Franco a good review.

Q: Are you planning to retire from porn any time soon?

I will retire from porn when I wake up one morning and find my penis under the pillow. Or I’ll be jogging and I’ll hear this noise [makes popping sound] and find my schmeckle lying somewhere on the ground. But actually I still do porn. I was nominated last year for Desert Stormy and I did a lot of high-profile films, Not the Bradys, Not the Bradys Part II, [and] Bewitched. So, it’s going really well. Still doing adult because the penis still works; I’m chasing age. As long as the penis works, I’ll do porn — ‘cause it’s fun, it pays and I still like it, but I’m doing more mainstream, that’s for sure.

Q: You’ve branched out into many different aspects of media, from writing your 2007 book Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz to directing to music and to mainstream film, have you ever tried starting your own production company or website?

That book became a New York Times best seller. I think Jenna [Jameson] beat me in America and I beat her in Europe.

Website, I had RonJeremy.com, which I sold. Well, at first Seymore Butts had RonJeremy.com and he gave me a monthly salary, then Leisure Time took over RonJeremy.com; [they] bought it from Seymore and did some kind of deal on a movie and then took over the name and gave me a salary and a car and paid the insurance on the car. And along came Hot Movies, which then bought it from [Leisure Time] less than a year ago… and they give me a bigger salary.

It’s funny, so, HotMovies.com now owns RonJeremy.com, from which I get a salary. I couldn’t be bothered with a computer; they bore me [and] I don’t like them.

Q: Obviously, the internet has changed the porn industry, but do you like the new direction? Where do you see the industry in 10 years? Do you think video/DVD releases will become obsolete?

Remember, I used to be a school teacher and I have a Master’s degree in special ed and two B.A.s in theater and education, and I think that the internet could be the greatest gift in the world and I think it could be bad. Look at our industry: We embraced it in the beginning and now it’s eating the porn business. It’s literally decimating the porn business and the rock ‘n’ roll industry. And to prove it, they’ve already closed down Tower Records, Tower Video, Virgin Megastore right on Sunset, Leisure Time already sold half its company, Red Light’s in trouble (almost going broke), Metro’s trimming on its staff, AVN fired about nine people, shows are getting smaller, and Steve Hirsch [Vivid CEO] is suing YouPorn or PornTube for showing full-length features and he predicted that there’ll be no DVDs in five years. So, the porn business is literally being destroyed, and the recording industry, by the internet.
