Ron was in attendance at the 2016 DGA awards with Directors Guild member John Clark, ex-husband to Lynn Redgrave. The two have been attending the event for 10 years. This year Ron wanted to meet Kenneth Lonergan who directed the Oscar nominated Manchester By The Sea. Ron is working on the parody version being created for the Toscars, an annual event that parodies all of the Best Picture nominees. People were surprised at just how popular Ron was at the event with autograph seekers at the show. He had just as many as some of the A-List celebrities in attendance. The Hollywood Reporter also took notice of Ron’s not so secret tendency to nod off at these events. Ron explains “I’ve been going nonstop…I was absolutely, 100 percent dead [tired]. I need more sleep.” It is true. Just recently, Ron was at the AEE show representing Hotmovies.com during the day and then making comedy appearances at night with his XL Comedy Tour. He is always on the move.
Hidden Figures director Theodore Melfi revealed his rather unorthodox background and directing origins. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Melfi recalls that one of his very first directing credits was the now famous Power of Music commercial for MTV featuring Ron delivering a pizza to scantily clothed girls.
